Selaginellaceae: The Spike-moss Family

Only one member of this family has been collected to date. There have been many Selaginellaceae documented in Guerrero, and there is a monographic study of this family (see sources). However, of the species listed below (all of the genus Selaginella), only 3 have been found within 50 km of the Oapan area: S. lepidophylla, S. pallescens, and S rzedowski.

The following members of this family have been documented in sources consulted on Guerrero flora: Selaginella arsenei, Selaginella cladorrhizans, Selaginella delicatissima, Selaginella disticha, Selaginella eurynota, Selaginella extensa, Selaginella flagellata, Selaginella harrisii, Selaginella hoffmannii, Selaginella lepidophylla, Selaginella marginata, Selaginella minima, Selaginella pallescens, Selaginella porphyrospora, Selaginella pulcherrima, Selaginella reflexa, Selaginella rhizophora, Selaginella rzedowski, Selaginella schaffneri, Selaginella schiedeana, Selaginella sertata, Selaginella stellata, Selaginella tarda, and Selaginella wrightii.
