Burseraceae : The Frankinsense Family To date 16 species of this family have been collected in the Oapan, San Juan Tetelcingo, and Ameyaltepec area, all belonging to the genera Bursera. Of these, 15 have been identified by Nahuatl consultants with a Nahuatl name. One collected species, Bursera longipes (Rose) Standley, was not recognized as a plant named in Nahuatl. The following members of this family have been documented in sources consulted on Guerrero flora: Bursera aloexylon, Bursera aptera, Bursera ariensis, Bursera bicolor, Bursera bipinnata, Bursera bipinnata X copallifera, Bursera bolivarii, Bursera bonetti, Bursera chenopodycta, Bursera copallifera, Bursera denticulata, Bursera discolor, Bursera diversifolia, Bursera fagaroides, Bursera fagaroides, Bursera glabrifolia, Bursera grandifolia, Bursera jorullensis, Bursera lancifolia, Bursera longipes, Bursera mirandae, Bursera morelensis, Bursera multifolia, Bursera schlechtendalii, Bursera submoniliformis, Bursera suntui, Bursera vejar-vazquezii, Bursera velutina, and Bursera xochipalensis. |
